Windsurfen Asian Championships 2012 final results
Unfortunately there wasn't to much information about the Asian Championships 2012 but at least I have the results. As far as I understand the conditions have been pretty light during the whole event.
The performance of the Hong Kong Team has been great this week. In the mens fleet Andy Leung (HGK-2) managed to win 4 out of 9 races and took the title. In second place it is the Korean Lee Tae Hoon (KOR-71) who was leading the first days but his OCS in race 6 got him in trouble. The 3rd place went to the host country Thailand. Ek Boonsawad (THA-8) had a. steady serie and put himself one point ahead of Fai Cheng Kwok (HGK-18).
In the womens fleet there was a close fight between Mei Sun Li (CHN-1), Hayley Chan (HGK-5) and Vicky Chan (HGK-8). In the beginning Hayley was leading but a DSQ in race 6 made it more difficult. Mei Sun Li managed to win the last three races and finished 3 points ahead of Hayley on first place. Vicky was also really consistent but just missed out on a couple of bullets and finished on third, 3 points behind Hayley.
Finally in the youth fleet it was another win for Hong Kong. Michael Cheng (HGK-16) had a bit of a slow start in the first races but then managed to win 5 races in a row to take the title. On 2nd place it is Vantana Nakaret from Thailand and in 3rd place again from Hong Kong Ting Lee Chung (HGK-25).
